The Drilling Company Discovery Series - May 14 and May 29th, 2007.
On May 14th, 2007, Stephen Bittrich's new Regency Era drama, The Acquisition, was read at 8 PM at 78th Street Theatre Lab on the 3rd floor. The reading was semi-staged and directed by Will Pomerantz. It featured Stephanie Cozart, Ron Dreyer, Douglas Harmsen, Dylan Green, Mikel Sara Lambert, Dana Slamp, and Paul Whitthorne.
On May 29th, 2007, Seth Bauer's new play, Over the Line, was read at 8 PM at 78th Street Theatre Lab on the 3rd floor. The reading was staged and directed by Gabriele Förster and featured Alessandro Colla, Jane Guyer, Megan MacKenzie Lawrence, Darren Lipari, Maria Jane Guyer, and Tobias Segal.
Both of these full lengths were further developed from "seeds," short plays, produced in previous themed evenings by The Drilling Company. Seth's play was expanded from his short, Stop the Lawns, from Drilling Company's Revenge series. Stop the Lawns was originally directed by Gabriele Forster. Stephen's play was expanded from his short, The Proposal, from Drilling Company's Security series. The Proposal was originally directed by Carol Halstead.
78th Street Theatre Lab is located at 236 West 78th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam, 1 block south of the 1 train at 79th Street.
